Weber grill coverAug 10, 2009 The first cover I received was defective. It had a seam that was coming appart. It appeared the sewere got a littl off track. The tag stated that it was made in China. The initial defect is the reason for my three star rating otherwise it would have been a four. Amazon's exchange was trouble free.
The cover fits wells and seems to protect the grill well. I have had grill covers for other Weber grills inthe past that a strong wind could blow the cover off. The velcro strips should keep the cover on.
I have a concern obout how long the velcro will last. Time will tell.

Vents = terrible designAug 08, 2009 I've had my S-470 for about 2 weeks without a cover and when it rains, water channels into the cabinet and into the drip pan where it mixes with the grease and overflows into the cabinet and anything in there. I've had to clean up disgusting messes twice already. This cover has vents in the top that allow water to come right in and allows this to happen even when it is covered. Why in the world they wouldn't put the vents on the upper sides is beyond me, but you do not want this cover!
Weber told me they redesigned the cover (based on "customer feedback" they said) and removed the vents and told me to order from their store to make sure I got a new, redesigned one. So I did and asked the sales rep to make sure that I got one of the new ones. When it showed up, it had the vents in the top anyways.
I'm now waiting on Weber to ship out the correct cover, but they don't know when it will be shipped. In the meantime, I'll have to throw a tarp over it or something. Do not buy this grill cover unless you are absolutely sure you are getting one without the top vents. I can't believe they didn't give them different model numbers so that you could be sure of what you are ordering, but right now it is a crap shoot, even if you are dealing directly with them.
Follow-up: I finally received the new version of this cover from Weber and it seems to be identical except no vents. Happy to finally have a usable cover, but I still recommend that you purchase directly from Weber or someone else that you can specifically ask for one without vents. If you order from Amazon and they send one with vents, you might be able to return it, but I'm not sure what you would do then to ensure you get one without vents.

New Ones Are Not VentedJun 16, 2009 I just bought the Weber hood model 7554 at a home improvement store for $45 and was pleased to see that it is NOT vented as I am covering the Weber S- 470 grill which has an issue with rain coming in the vented hoods, flooding the internal shelf of the grill, and overflowing the grease trap. Since I live in the North, I am hoping venting the humidity to prohibit rusting the nuts and bolts should be less of an issue than living in the south.
The dilemma is that other reviews on the 7554 cover says that they ARE vented. So if your ordering through the internet, there is no real way to tell which you will be getting since they have the same model number.
Otherwise, seems like a well constructed cover and happy I bought it.

Great cover for a GREAT grill BUT...Jun 13, 2009 I love my new s-450 grill and want it to last 20 years, so a good cover is necessary. The Weber 7554 cover fits perfectly, has great velcro traps for a nice tight fit for the winter or extended non-use times. The new redesigned cover does NOT have vents, which is a plus and a minus. As I have read, some people did not like the fact that rain water came in and made a mess of the shelves. Not a problem anymore. However, i feel there should be some kind of ventilation as condensation and moisture has no escape while covered. Each time I uncover it the grill is damp. Not sure if this will promote rust. Only time will tell. My last grill had a good basic cover (purchased at K Mart) which had small riveted holes for ventilation. I give the cover 4 stars due to a lack any of vents.
