 A great idea, but problems.Dec 06, 2008
I've had two of these.
When they're working they're great. Unfortunately the plastic mounting rings break occasionally and sometimes the filter gasket leaks.

I have an undersink filter that came with my house. Changing the filter always meant finding someone to do it for me,since it meant turning off the water and a lot of effort. And always a mess!
This is a simple solution that I can change with zero effort and requires no outside help. A turn in one direction and the filter is off. A turn in the other direction and the new filter is on.
Drawbacks: They need changing very frequently. The cost mounts up. The water doesn't come out with gusto, but not a trickle either. Just less force.
I like the additional settings which bypass the filter, saving on filter usage.
It could be better, but it isn't bad and a whole lot easier than the under the counter type filter.
It is reasonably attractive for what it is.

 Faulty R-8 Replacement FilterSep 02, 2006
I purchased one of these as a spare. Upon recently installing it the green light - to indicate it's useful life - was not working. I ignored this. Then, 30 days into it's use it's water output suddenly reduced to about 10% of normal. This performance was entirely different from the original cartridge that came with my original filter unit purchase.
I feel I've been had by WaterPik.
