2 years out and going in the trash.Aug 05, 2006 With good care of DVD's and limited use, this unit started showing alot of DVD play problems at 18 months. Many DVD's would not play at all, or would take several attempts to play, even ones directly out of the box.
At 21 months, DVD completely unusable, and heading to the donation pile.
Very disappointed, nice looking unit, with decent interface controls. Cannot recommend at all.

Cassette ejection problemMar 27, 2006 I received this unit as a Christmas gift 2004 and have had no problem with the DVD door. However, twice a cassette has become stuck in the VCR. The first time I was able to get it out, but this time no luck. I tried unplugging the unit and trying the eject button again without success. Next step to call Toshiba for assistance, if no help no more Toshiba products

Hunk of Junk!Jun 06, 2005 After reading positive reviews about this set have had nothing but problems when trying to view DVD's. Stutters, freezes, and stops playing DVD's either new or rented. It might work 50% of the time. It might be just my unit but I'm very dissatisfied with this model.

DO NOT BUYJan 18, 2005 DVD got so many problems. Just don't buy this one. Noises, recognition problems... I should have a Samsung one instead; Japanese product doesn't guarantee the quality.
