Thank God they don't sell this anymore.Nov 19, 2008 I bought this for my mom and it worked well till just after the 1 year warranty was up. Then nothing. The repairs to the system will cost more than I paid for it. What a disappointment.
Great productApr 03, 2007 My elderly aunt needed a turntable with a CD and Tape player. This fit the bill. I was surprised after setting it up for her (VERY EASY) how well it sounded. I expected less and got a lot more bang for the buck.
Noisy and just overall badly built!Mar 17, 2007 I got this unit for Christmas hoping I would get a nice 3 CD changer with a record player built in...what I got was the noisiest piece of junk ever built. The CD, yes THE CD PLAYER, is the noisiest function on this entire unit. It hisses so bad I can't even hear music! And that's not the only problem. The other reason I got this unit, ironically enough, is the record player(turntable). Again, very noisy but that's expected of records, but the stylus is pure garbage. It's inncaurate, flimsy and probably made of cheap plastic that will destroy your records! If you need a 3 CD changer with a record player STAY AWAY FROM THIS THING!
Great Sound For Old LPsJan 11, 2007 I purchased this unit for my in-laws. They have a lot of old LPs as well as cassettes and CDs. I was amazed at how well everything sounded for an all-in-one stereo system! All components work great and instructions aren't necessary to figure out any of the functions. Bad side is the wording on the buttons. Very difficult to see unless you have the system at eye view. Also the arm for the turntable doesn't have an auto shut off. That would have been something I definitely would have put on this equipment.
I would have no problems recommending it to others. We have seperate stereo components with JBL Monitor Speakers so our sound system led us to believe the TEAC stereo would never give quality sound but we were wrong. If you have old LPs that you still enjoy listening to, I highly recommend this unit. My father-in-law loves it and he's a very difficult man to please.
Here it is, August 2007 and there's a problem with the on/off button. Took forever to get fixed because there was so much wrong with it. I don't know if I can recommend a product that can't even make it through the first year of use. The decision is yours.
Nice little system for the money.Jan 10, 2007 I just wanted a small system with a turntable so I could play my old records. This fit the bill. The small speakers have a fairly good sound and it is set up well enough for use without reading the instructions. The clock seems to lose time though.
