5BEST VCR!May 05, 2009
THIS VCR IS GREAT IF YOU HAVE A HUGE VHS COLLECTION,BUT NOW DAYS WE HAVE DVD'S WHICH IS MUCH BETTER!

4Nice Player for VHSAug 27, 2008
This player has a nice faster rewind and slows down near the end to keep from breaking the tape. It has 4 heads and a manual tracking setting. Maybe some intelligent would be handy to play tapes from VCR since my source tapes do not always have the same tracking.

3Not the BestJul 12, 2008
I bought this VCR to replace my old Sony VCR, an SLV-AX10, which I purchased in 2000. This Full Chassis model is very fast in rewinding but a little noisy in its recording and unloading operations. In playing a tape it has recorded, it seems that at the beginning of the tape it had a problem in tracking its own recordings while there were no problems at all in playing old commercially-produced tapes. This machine was very easy to operate, similar to my old VCR and I thought it was worth the price since it was refurbished. Wrong!!! Things got worse and worse and it has been taken to the recycling center.

1Bad service and bad product.Jun 27, 2008
The first one didn't work so we called the seller, who told us to call Sony to fix it. The next day I called and talked to a different person who said send it back for a replacement so we did. After two weeks with no word we emailed twice through Amazon with no replies. Finally we called the seller to see if they got it ok. A week after the call the replacement came with a little sticker telling us not to return it to them. This one records fuzzy and to eject a tape we have to manually open the little door. We've had really good luck with Amazon sellers in the past, but we won't buy from World Wide Distributors again.

2Four years old and eating tapesJun 17, 2008
We purchased this VCR for $79.99 on 5/30/04 and are trashing it today because it starting destroying tapes. I fails to release the actual tape portion of the cassette on eject, shredding the tape. BEWARE anyone using this for home viewing home videos with cassette adapters! We purchased a different Sony VCR two years earlier and it is still working.
