 Poor Voice Activation Mode, get the 910 modelMay 25, 2008
I purchased this monitor and the voice activation mode didn't work. It was humming all the time because my daughter has a fan in her room. I then purchased the baby call monitor 910 and it worked! Same room and the only time the monitor goes off is when the baby makes a noise (not the fan).

We tried all kind of monitors and these are the only ones that let us sleep because they have the "voice activate" mode so you do not have to listen "bzzzzzz" the whole time, just silence and when the kids yell, talk, cough, etc you just hear them.

It's excellent. Very clear, almost no static, and the voice-activated feature is the best. The out-of-range alarm can get a little annoying at times, if it wasn't for this, I'd give 5 starts. SONY does a great job. I highly recommend this monitor

These are the best monitors....I have never had any problems with them and they are clear with no static like others I have used....I highly recomend them!!

We have used this monitor for 3 months now and it is really good. Microphone is very sensitive and the voice activation works perfectly. It can be powered with bateries or with the included power cable. Battery life is very good.
Definetely one of the best monitors you can find in this price range.
