1A Piece of JunkMar 12, 2010
I bought this unit at Best Buy in November,it stopped working the end of February. I took it back to Best Buy and they told me it has a 90 day warrantee and it was past the warrantee period. I would not buy this unit if it will not work longer that 3 months and 3 weeks.

1Junk!!!!Feb 26, 2010
This unit I bought to convert my store bought vhs tapes to dvd.... it worked for about 4 months or at least that was the last time I tried to use it that the unit worked. After that, I get a wonderful error that every tape I use, even ones copied from home movies, say that they are copy protected and cannot be recorded. Called and talked to Samsung twice with no answers but the tapes are copy protected and I cannot do anything about it.

5great dvd/vcr recorderFeb 11, 2010
After the first unit came in defective (most likely damaged in shipping) the seller quickly got a replacement unit sent to my door.it works great very easy to set up, very easy to set timers for recording, very easy for just about everything. still havent tried the editing features(dont really have need to use it at this point) but I'm sure when it comes time it will be easy to figure out. nice unit and VERY,VERY sharp looking with the grand piano gloss black front panel. Only critique is the display window could have been a little less tinted so the display would be easier to see. it is a liitle dim, but other than that it's a great unit.

5Keeping the shows you likeFeb 07, 2010
I had trouble each time hooking this up but the cable guy and my computer guy had NO trouble when I needed to it moved to another location so that may be a girl thing. I have converted a lot of my old VHS tapes to DVD and it is great to be able to find exactly what I am looking for. It is a little complicated for a girl/older lady like me to figure out how to use and play and edit but when I took the time to learn how to do it, it was well worth the time spent. The fact that I can play it on my computer makes it worth every second! I am still learning about editing as it saves DVD record space and you can record more if you are careful.
I am very happy with this product. Of course I like the fact that it also can play my DVD's and VCR/s

1Not hard to work but already broke!Feb 04, 2010
I bought this unit on Monday. Hook up was a snap (all these people who were giving it bad reviews because it was hard to set up and work.... I'm sorry. I don't know what your issue was but even without looking at the book I set it up and recorded a show. (Before I did my recording I double checked the quick start guide, and yeap I was right. I mean how hard is it to hook the RCA from the sat box to the "in" connections and the hdmi to the out and TV.. don't have hdmi... use another set of rca plugs.. really not hard AT ALL)

MY issue is while Samsung usually makes great products... this was crap. I recorded one program, and when I went to set the title, the unit froze up. I turned it off and on several times before I got it to "unstick". I decided to check the reviews and discovered the majority of the reviews were bad and those with issues seemed to start with something small and just after the warranty runs out... it REALLY breaks. So... I wanted to finish off the DVD I'd started recording... and sure enough it locked up again. (I used it 3 times and it locked up twice.) So I took it back got my money back and am now awaiting my new Toshiba DVD recorder.)

So while it's not hard to set up, it just doesn't seem to be made all that well.
