Good For Two YearsAug 08, 2009 I have really enjoyed my conductor for the last two years. Now however the controller is acting up and the back-light does not work. I did not notice battery problems with mine. Range is not as good as advertised, but decent enough. Very nice to be able to see who is on the radio, makes for good drinking game!
don't waste your moneyMar 14, 2009 pro: nice LCD display with light
con: eats batterys only last 7 to 10 days
range is not as good as they state, i have other rf remote that have better range.
not easy to program.
After over a year my remote quit working. I could not find a replacement remote. So i purchased a sirius home tuner and added a rf remote.
Should Be Taken Off The Market Dec 01, 2008 What a waste of money. To start, the batteries only last for 8 to 10 days if you use it more than a few times each day. Despite the claims for distance, I've found that I must be within 10 ft of the unit for the remote to work. If there is a wall between remote and the unit, figure on less than 10 ft.
Additionally, the signal drops constantly. I have it aimed perfectly and usually have the full amount of bars visible. But randomly each hour, the sound drops out and the signal is lost.
Also found out that Sirius will not send you any type of invoice or receipt each time they charge your credit card, unless you agree to subscribe for a year. Instead, they tell you to log in to their site and use the billing history button. The problem is that this page doesnt allow you to print an invoice. It simply shows a date and a charge. If you own a business and the Sirius charge is a business expense, you can easily see why this is such a problem. Those crazy accountants and bookkeepers have a tendency to want an invoice or receipt for any charges and expenses. Go figure.
This was a huge waste of money.
Love It!Sep 15, 2008 I've been a Sirius listener since 2005 and had been moving an older Kenwood radio between home and car. Purchased the Conductor for home use and I love it! Being able to view the channels on my remote is really neat and convenient. It's like having a radio all over the house.
I found the remote to have great range. Actually use it from my front porch, basement, and back deck for my unit that is on the main level of the house. I'm sitting in my office on the second floor of the house while wrtiting this review and scrolling through and listening to channels.
Unit does use batteries rapidly as some reviewers mentioned, but I just invested about $[...] bucks in a couple of Sony Ni-MH chargers and 8 batteries and swap out every couple of weeks.Sony Power Battery Charger with 4 AA Ni-MH Rechargeable Batteries
I did notice that this unit does not seem to have as sensitive of an RF receiver as my older Kenwood units. However, by mounting the antenna outside on the roof edge and pointing straight up, I'm getting 90-100 % signal at all times. My old Kenwood usually did not require outside antenna use.
Summary: I love this product and am thinking of buying another just so that I can have more than one remote in the house.

directions confussingJan 19, 2008 I purchased the SCH1W looking forward to hear commericial free broadcasting. I took it out the box and put the batteries int the remote.
There was a message to begin set up....push button on tuner. I could not find a button. I ended up taking the radio back and received a refund. I cannot review the quality of the radio, for me I found it confussing to set up..
