Unable to "handle" the job!Feb 21, 2009 First use handle breaks. Quite dangerous actually. The didn't just make up "you get you pay for."

doesn't make senseOct 24, 2008 I bought this at Marshalls for $40. I needed it for a recipe and wanted to get a cheap french oven to see if I would really get my moneys worth out of it.( The good ones really set you back). Honestly, the pot itself is fine, cleans well. But why, Why?, would you put a handle that can only endure 350, on a french oven that can be heated to 500? AT first I said well it is for low temp cooking no problem. Well the second recipe I attempted needed a temp of 400, I had to remove the handle and ended up burning myself.
The point is the handle ruins the pot, I wouldn't even spend $40.00 on it if I had to do it all over again.
Cast iron casseroleJun 08, 2008 Good looking, good cooking casserole. Perfect for chicken and a small duck. Easy cleaning. Best for the price (comparing to another "cast iron" brands)
Nice looking but...May 02, 2008 A nice style and colorful addition to the kitchen but if I would have know that the handles on the lids were not oven safe over 350 degrees I probably would not have purchased the item.I also purchased the smaller cast iron 3.5 qt pot.

Awesome!Jan 12, 2008 I recently purchased this cast iron casserole and absolutely love it! It washes up nicely without soap, as the manufacturer recommends. I make one pot dinners in it, and there is no burning or scorching. The handles are a good size to grip easily, and the knob on the lid is easy to grip also especially with arthritic hands! I plan to purchase one for my daughter because she also thought this is awesome cookware.
