Fast boiling kettle, good valueNov 04, 2009
I also bought this kettle for making tea and coffee. This is great for those times when I want to make a cuppa to take with me on my drive to somewhere. It is much faster than the microwave. My lid fits snugly. I wish the cord were a little longer and the body came in colors other than white. I prefer my whistling water kettle but I have an electric stove and it takes too long to get water to come to a boil.

This kettle is great, when you don't want to make a full pot of tea or coffee, for one person. It boils quickly, turns off automatically, stays warm for some time after it shuts off. Some have complained about the plastic smell, there is an easy fix for that.
The instructions say to boil the first pot, and discard the water. I did this twice, before brewing water for my tea. After use, leave the lid open until the next use. That smell was gone after the second cup.
This kettle has paid for itself time after time. If you don't want the hassle of big pots, the waste of coffee or tea, this little guy does the job. It's also great for hot chocolate. Well worth every penny I paid.

this kettle reliably boils water and auto-shutoff is great. it has saved me many trips to the company cafeteria for hot water (for tea)

Cause it's cheap and also pratical.
