love cooking under pressureNov 15, 2009 I have to give the Presto 8 qt stainless steel pressure cooker five stars. I can't find anything wrong with it. I thought maybe the removeable gasket might be a problem fitting back in but it's very easy. At first I wasn't sure of how to line up the lid for easy closing but once I got the knack, it went smoothly. I am so happy with the whole process of cooking quickly and getting delicious results. A whole pot of Minestroni soup in less than half hour and it tastes as if it was slow cooked all day. I'm tempted to order an even bigger pressure cooker, with the economy the way it is I might want to make gallons of soup.
Highly RecommendedNov 14, 2009 This fast energy/time saving 8-quart pressure cooker is small enough for smaller jobs, yet large enough to handle most other jobs such as light pressure canning. It is the professional Presto model and comes in beautiful easy-to-care-for stainless steel with an aluminum core in the flat base for uniform heating. I would suggest that to prevent possible damage to a glass or similar cooktop, purchasing a single electric countertop burner due to the higher heat generated by a pressure cooker. However, others comment that it has no been no problem.
Glad I ordered this.Nov 13, 2009 I am very happy with this product. I was hesitant to order it because previously I had a Cooks Essential Electronic Pressure cooker. I loved it and was used to cooking with an electronic pressure cooker. I was not happy with all the longer it lasted. I used it for less than 4 years when the heating element went on it. So because of electronic cookers not having a great warranty and being so expensive I decided to try this product. I am very happy with it. It does a really nice job and I don't have to babysit it like I thought I would. The pressure regulator does not rock back and forth. I would definately recommend this product.
I like itNov 10, 2009 The size is good although it is taller than wider (would prefer it the other way around); it is not too heavy so it is easy to handle, but I do not understand why food gets burnt on the bottom. I have an old pressure cooker made from aluminum, and I never had a problem with burning food using exactly the same method (I bought this cooker as a replacement).
Stainless steal of a deal!Nov 08, 2009 it's Big, stainless steel, nice! good safety features. and the best price i've seen for such a nice Pressure cooker
