The slot-loading changer helps you organize and get creative about how you listen. In addition to its standard features (play, repeat, 32-track programming), the PD-F407 has a few that are more unusual--and perfect for a CD jukebox. "Best play" is a one-touch trick that lets you commit any 15 tracks to the PD-F407's memory. Just hit the BEST button while a track is playing and the player will automatically store that track in memory. Later, on hitting "best play," the unit will play back all 15 tracks in sequence. Another cool feature is "previous-disc scan," which simply plays the opening ten seconds of the last 15 discs played. The PD-F407 also lets you create up to 3 custom files, or groups, with no limit to the number of CDs in each file. This is a terrific way to file discs by genre or by favorite artist. When you hit play after having hit stop or turned the unit off, it will begin playing the last disc before shutdown. What's more, your programmed sequences are preserved even when powering down thanks to Pioneer's memory hold feature. Select random playback to let the player choose selections from among all 25 discs, from a single disc, or from a designated "custom" file. A "Hi-Lite" button plays a 10-second portion of the first track on each disc. There are also many variations on all of these programmable features, depending upon what mode you are using at the time. | | | Features: | |

ConvenientOct 08, 2009 This as a replacement for an older unit (PD-F507) that I've had for nearly 10 years. The new unit does not have a remote. I appreciate the memory features, program favorites and returns to the last song played when restarting.
I have it on alot on weekends, so I know that it's durable. It's a great value!!
pd-f407 25 disc cd fileOct 05, 2009 this multi cd player is everyhing i wanted and enjoy using the random function....my only negative and this is a slight negative is loading and unloading the cds they are close together which makes it difficult to remove a single cd that is in the middle

Pioneer PD-F407 CD changerSep 24, 2009 I would not recommend this CD changer. I bought a used one at Goodwill and have 25 CDs and 300-350 tracks on it. Of these 300-350 tracks there is a core group of 15-20 tracks that play much more often than random selction could possibly allow. So I thought that someone gave it to Goodwill because of that flaw. Otherwise I thought it was a good machine that fit my needs. So I bought a new one thinking it would not have the flaw. The first one did not work at all so I exchanged it for another. The replacement works, but has the same flaw of playing this core group of tracks frequently.

EXCELLENT SOUND, NO REMOTESep 13, 2009 THE CD PLAYER BY ITSELF IS EXCELLENT VALUE FOR THE MONEY. 25 DISC, FRONT LOADING, GROUPED BY 5 EEACH, TO EASY DIVIDE INTO GENRES, EASY SET UP. IN FACT A BREEZE.
IT IS VERY LIGHT TO CARY ARROUND. COMES WITH CHEAP A/V CABLES. NOTE: USE A GOOD QUALITY A/V CABLE IT TRANSLATES INTO A MUCH, MUCH BETTER SOUND.
CONS: NO REMOTE,..THIS DEVICE IS SET UP TO RUN FOR HOURS, NOT FOR THE OCCASIONAL LISTENER WHO LIKES TO CHNAGE CD'S,.. IF THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR GO TO THE SONY CX 335 OR THE 455 OR THE PIONERR FD 1009. ALL HAVE REMOTES ALSO. (Sony CDPCX355 300-Disc MegaStorage CD Changer, Pioneer PD-F1009 301-Disc CD-File Changer, )
NO DIGITAL OPTICAL OR DIGITAL COAXIAL OUTPUT, BUT TO BE HONEST, THE SOUND IS EXCELLENT FROM POLK AUDIO SPEAKERS OR MORE HUMBLE SONY SS-6000 SPEAKERS.
IF YOU GET THE 98.95 DOLLARS DEALS, I THINK YOU SHOULD GET IT, NOT BAD FOR THE BUCK. I ALREADY HAVE FEW OF THEM , ONE IN EACH ROOM.
PS: THE SAME CD SOUNDS MUCH BETTER FROM THIS CD PLAYER THEN RUNNING IT THROUGH THE LOGITECH SQUEEZE BOX, (RUNNING FROM THE I TUNES MUSICAL DIGITAL LIRARY ON MY COMPUTER)..I GUESS THE MORE SOPHISTICATED YOU GET THE SOUND DEGRADES,...
