5NO Lag, works perfectly!Sep 04, 2009
There have been several reviews describing a lag between pushing the button and getting a response on the unit. I installed this on my '05 Buick Rainier (GMT360 body - same as Trailblazer, Envoy, Ascender, etc) controlling a DNX9140. I made sure the connections are tight and programming done correctly - the result was a perfect install with no lag on single button presses at all. As a test, I pushed the Volume Up button 10 times in very quick succession and the unit registered 8 of them...not bad at all.

Also, you have to visit their website to get vehicle-specific instructions (this is because the SWI-Jack is compatible with almost a hundred different cars) [...]. Installation was not bad at all. The hardest part was getting to GM's control wire under the steering wheel. Programming took all of 2 minutes.

Overall, I give this 5 stars, and recommend it to anyone who has steering wheel radio buttons.

4Great product once I got it working!Jun 08, 2009
Spent a LONG time trying to get it to work (decent phone-in support from PAC) only to find out I had a faulty unit. Returned to Amazon... fast response but they sent me the wrong product the second time (wrong name on invoice and everything... first time this has happened to me w/Amazon). FINALLY got the product and installed and it works great. Many reviews spoke to a lag, buttons work instantly for me and flawlessly (so far). I mounted in a 2006 Tahoe with a Clarion radio. Did add an automotive relay at the recommendation of the manufacturer (sent me a schematic). 100% satisfied once I got the correct/working unit! Amazon had best price by a decent margin.

2SLOOOOW Response - Installed on a 2007 Honda PilotJun 08, 2009
I installed the SWI-JACK on our 2007 Honda Pilot to work steering controls for the new Kenwood DNX-9140. The instructions were extremely difficult to follow and since our steering wheel radio controls have the 'mode' button, it wasn't clear if the black/red wires needed a capacitor or not (it states 'may or may not need a capacitor' and nothing on what dictates the need. The brown and red wire must be grounded though. Once programmed and installed, the unit is very slow to respond with the Kenwood deck. I wish I would have saved the $50 on something else! Spend your money elsewhere if you're installing on a Honda!!!

5Works greatApr 13, 2009
I ended up going to the web site to make sure I had the right information for installation in my Highlander Hybrid. It works great. I was able to assign any features to any of the buttons on my steering wheel. I could not be more pleased. Installation was just a couple of wires and a few steps for programming.

4PAC SWIJACK Steering Wheel Remote InterfaceMar 31, 2009
It was delivered in a timely fashion and was straight forward to install and program. Anyone who can install a stereo can install this product.

It works as I expected for my JVC stereo, thought there is a lag time responding to button presses. After using it for a few days the lag time didn't seem so bad vs not having steering wheel controls. I would recommend this product to my friends.
