I can't believe ratings for this radioOct 21, 2009 This radio--when it comes on or is turned on, just picks a channel, in mine, usually Channel 33. So each time I have to turn it manually to #19. When you start and stop allot it's a real pain. Mine also has a squeal when I talk (people reply back, "hey your radio has a bad squeal.")
You get what you pay for.
it broke the first dayOct 12, 2009 The first day I used it, the transmit stopped working and the channel selector did not respond. Power and fuse were fine, antenna was tuned. Amazon was kind enough to take it back. I am not sure I will buy another.
Awsome radioOct 10, 2009 I bought this radio after buying and using a Cobra WX II. It is a awsome radio for this money! I have crystal clean sound, everytime. I still get a signal with my squelch on max. It was easy to wire to my battery, and compact enought to fit in my small truck's cab.
Great deal on a good CBOct 04, 2009 This is an awesome CB radio for the price. It's compact, has RF gain control, others can hear me clearly, and it's loud enough for me to hear others clearly too. The only bummer is that I connected it to a switched power source, and it defaults to channel 9 when you turn it on (rather than your last used channel) but I can't complain about that since it's the least expensive radio I found!
the best cb out thereSep 28, 2009 The Midland 1001Z 2-Way CB Radio is the best CB out there for a good price. It came on time. Worked right out of the box -- no problems! I bought a Cobra 19 DX IV 40-Channel Compact CB Radio and it makes popping noises and fuzzy noises. I returned the Cobra to Frys Electronics and bought the Midland for $29. This CB is the best out there. :)
