Great to cook with!Oct 19, 2009 This was the most expensive pot I ever bought! I made The Nealy's Short Ribs from the Food Network and my husband raved about it. The dish was so easy to clean up afterwards. I purchased the red and love the color. This casserole dish is becoming one of my favorite in my kitchen.

Be weary of Le Creuset productsJul 20, 2009 I bought (six months ago) three pans in Canada made by Le Creuset. The braiser became useless soon after the purchase, as food started to sticking to the pan. I sent the pan to their customer service department and was told that excessive heat damaged it and was given the option of buying another braiser from them at a reduced price. The problem is endemic to the other Le Creuset pans. I do not use very high heat setting or leave food unattended. I have never encountered any problem with pans made by other manufacturer such as All-Clad. To me if the Le Creuset pan is such a delicate piece of product, it is then of no use to cooking!
Have Had Ours for 20 Years Now!Jul 12, 2009 While checking to see how much these cost now, I had to leave a note saying that my husband and I each brought one of these to our marriage almost 2o years ago! We gave one to my sister and still use the other nearly every day for us, our 3 kids and my mother-in-law. Ours is what seems to be the old style with a black non-stick coating on the surface that has held up fairly well, but I would like to have an enamel lined one. We use it as a skillet, a casserole, and it is much admired at all the pot-luck type things a family such as ours attends. I agree with the person who said that if they could have one piece of cookware, this would be it! A little hard for boiling pasta ;), but for all else it is the best. Just to give all you new purchasers a story to let you know that this casserole will be your kitchen buddy for a loooong time!

Most versatile cookware I have!Feb 13, 2009 This is a most versatile cookware I own. I love it!
Very useful for braising of chicken, fish, vegis, and thinner piece of other meats. I used this for recipes from "All About Braising". There are so many recipes you can make with this pretty round casserole.
Also, it is nice to use this for a dinner party. I used it to cook spanish paella and Japanese one-pot, such as shabushabu and sukiyaki, a Korean Pancake. You cook them either in oven or on stove top and bring them straignt to a dining table. This casselore not only looks very nice but also putiing the lid on, the meals are kept warm while you entertain friends.
I can use it as a small roasting pan and as just a skillet as well. If I needed to pick up only one pot, without any hesitation, I would do so with this casserole.

Even after a fire, it looks as good as new Nov 11, 2008 We own the Le Creuset 3.5 qt. braiser and the 5 qt. dutch oven. We always felt a little guilty that we had spent so much on them. Last year, we returned home to find that our apartment had been destroyed in a fire. Our kitchen was destroyed along with almost everything in it -- except for our Le Creuset cookware. The stove had melted and sat lower, but the braiser, which sat atop the stove, was as good as new. We ran it through a dishwasher a few days later, and any smell of fire was gone. As we were clearing out what little we could salvage from our home, people in the hallways could not believe how good these pots looked. They had seen the damage to our apartment. Needless to say, we don't feel guilty about how much this cookware cost us anymore. This cookware will truly last you a lifetime.
