Quality productFeb 27, 2010 The leatherman skeletool is quality 100%. compact, handy and easy to use and light weight. I keep it with me most of the time. The knife is very sharp and keeps its edge. The screw driver is well made and sturdy. The pliers grip good and are very sturdy. I have used it to tighten screws, take things apart to repair, cut up card board boxes to recycle and many other things because it is so conveniant to have with me.
Wave or Charge is betterFeb 13, 2010 The Wave and Charge give you more and better tools for just a few ounces more weight.
Whatever Leatherman tells you, this only has three tools: the pliers, knife, and screwdriver. The clip is not a tool, though it can open a bottle. The knife is great, sharp and can be opened and closed one handed. The screwdriver is OK, but...
The curved pliers' handles do not fit my hand well. Straight handles like the classic Leatherman has would be better. They have a nasty pinch point on each side.
The Skeletool seems to be designed to look cool. There's a lot of places they could have eliminated weight but did not because they wanted it to look all Spyderco-ish. Not what I want from a Leatherman.
The Wave is a much better tool and gives you much more bang for your dollar and for each ounce.

Serrated Blade / Impenetrable PackagingFeb 12, 2010 Review would have been five stars except for the impenetrable plastic packaging. Items sold online should be easy to open since shelf visibility and theft aren't a factor.
I ordered the 830846 in February 2010 and received a Skeletool with a straight / serrated combo blade. I thought the combo blade only came with the more expensive CX. A nice surprise, since I wanted the combo blade but didn't care about the carbon fiber of the CX.
I like this knife-centric multitool. It is just the right combination of tools and size for me to carry arround. I find it fits my hand great, so I disagree with the ergonomic complaints I read about online before buying it.
SkeletoolFeb 02, 2010 I'm very happy with this tool. It has a good solid feel to it, but it's much lighter than the older model I have. Everything opens and closes easily and locks in place.
PerfectionJan 28, 2010 This tool is deceptively small. The carabiner makes a great pocket hook, well worth the tiny amount of weight it adds and the length makes the knife more manageable. The knife clicks into place with a great little snap.
Some other reviews seem to not be based on experience, e.g.,
- It can be opened left-handed, with the left index finger.
- The shape does not affect the functionality of the screw driver or the pliers.
