A. WINSELLNov 13, 2009 I PURCHASED THIS PRODUCT WITH MY KA PROFESSIONAL 600 MIXER. I LOVE TO MAKE LASAGNA AND THOUGHT MY RECIPE WOULD BE BETTER WITH FRESH NOODLES. AFTER I MADE THE DOUGH AND LET IT REST FOR AN HOUR I BEGAN TO ROLL OUT NOODLES. I USED THE RECIPE FROM THE BOOK THAT CAME WITH THE ATTACHMENT. AT FIRST THE DOUGH SEEMED TO BE EXTREMELY DRY. I WAS AFRAID THAT THIS WAS NOT GOING TO WORK, BUT I STARTED ANYWAY. I WAS QUICKLY IMPRESSED. THE ATTACHMENT ROLLED OUT BEAUTIFUL NOODLES, AND LOT OF THEM. THE VERY NEXT DAY MY SISTER WANTED ME TO MAKE BIEROCKS. I ALSO MAKE THESE FROM SCRATCH. AFTER I LET THE DOUGH RISE AND WAS GETTING READY TO ROLL IT OUT. MY SISTER HAD AN IDEA. USE THE PASTA ROLLER TO ROLL OUT SHEETS OF BREAD DOUGH. I THOUGHT WHY NOT. SO WE BEGAN, AND AGAIN THE ROLLER IMPRESSED ME. WE USED SMALL DOUGH BALLS AND ROLLED THEM INTO LITTLE SHEETS. THE GREAT THING ABOUT USING A PASTA ROLLER WAS ALL THE DOUGH WAS EXACTLY THE SAME THICKNESS. SO ALL THE BIEROCKS TURNED OUT PERFECT. GREAT PRODUCT.

once you've had fresh pasta, you'll never want dry again...and this does it best!Nov 01, 2009 I've tried various pasta makers after getting my first few tastes of homemade ravioli...ahhh, the food of the Gods...and this has worked, by far, heads and shoulders above all others.
This makes the task brainless...fun enough for the gourmet cook, easy enough that you don't have to have ever cooked before.
It is super fun when we have a dinner party when everyone is gathered in the kitchen nibbling on appetizers to start rolling the fresh dough right there in front of the guests. You can even add coloring for holiday side dishes or full meal entertaining without changing the flavor. We did a great orange and black halloween ravioli filled with pumpkin in a wonderful sage butter sauce that was a great hit and we've done red and green pasta for a cold pasta salad served at Christmas and we've done sports team colors during some football games.
On the contrary of this being time consuming, you can make lots of fresh pasta ahead of time on weekends and have way faster weeknight meals that tastes amazing. Here's a good sauce for example:
1 lb pre made pasta with 1/2 cup pasta water reserved after boiling (I begin cooking this while I'm making the sauce)
2 T butter
1 T olive oil
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
8 oz crimini or wild mushrooms, finely chopped
1/4 cup white wine
1/2 cup heavy cream
salt and pepper
grated parm for serving
This will go atop your cooked pasta of your choice:
Melt butter with oil in a skille over med high heat. Add garlic and mushrooms and cook, stirring frequently, itl just colored, about 5 min, add wine and simmer til just evaporated. Stir in cream and simmer gently til just thickened, 1-2 min, Add cooked pasta to hot sauce, toss well to coat and adding reserved water as needed (you may not need it all) Serve immediately with parmesan
we've also added shirmp or chicken to this.
so easy so fast...you can also just add olive oil or butter and parmesan or bottled sauce to homemade pasta and still the meal is so very much better than dried pasta, cheaper too, and can be served as a main meal in minutes or side dish
This not only enables me to have some individual fun making dinner, but it's fun for guests to roll some pasta out for dinner (they get a kick out of it if they have never done it before and I make extra dough for them to take home after the dinner party) and it's family fun too.
But none of that matters if it's not easy to use, clean, and have it work...and it did, easily.
As long as your dough is well floured enough its a easy to clean too...just follow directions and anyone can do it.
Review of KPRA Pasta RollerOct 15, 2009 This product is excellent. I have only used it once, I have not totally mastered it but the end result was excellent. The rollers work beautifully, but I need to buy a drying rack to hang up the pasta.
a little tricky at firstOct 09, 2009 I like being able to make my own pasta, but the process was a little tricky at first. I definitely suggest that you hang in there. It is worth it. The only down side is that I don't think the cleaning brush is as good as it could be. I switched to a soft bristled tooth brush and had much better results.
Great Tool!Sep 26, 2009 Makes great pasta! I thought it would be hard to clean since it cannot be immersed in water, but once the dough on the rollers dries, the brush it comes with helps clean it up just fine! Would love an attachment like this one that also makes short pasta.
