Nice surprise for the priceSep 14, 2009 Small for the sound you can expect from this portable iPod Dock, even with the 6 AA batteries the sound is really good (rich and clear), but be careful because the performance seems to be more about quality and low distortion rather than a loud system, however, it is good enough for open areas, such as a beach or a swimming pool. It comes with a small remote control and a screen with a lot of information, good enough to use it as an alarm.
A.K.Mar 12, 2009 For a small clock radio this has awesome sound, much better than the Sony IPOD dock clock radio or the IHome. You do not have full IPOD control with the remote but you can skip songs and do fast forward or reverse. I am very please with this product.
Damn BestMar 11, 2009 I own it for 4 months now...& it is really wonderful. No one believes the sound it generates. my best investment on iphone accessory.
Highly Recommended

Packs a punch!Feb 24, 2009 This small portable speaker system packs a punch! It delivers music from my mp3 player loud enough to overpower normal conversation volume, and can even be heard in the next bedroom! And this can be achieved not only with the AC adapter, but also on alkaline or rechargeable batteries.
The FM radio is a bit noisy though, perhaps due to the simple wire antenna attached to the back or the location of my home. But once you head outdoors, the reception was pretty good. I do not have an iPod so I do not know how well it works with these Apple devices.
Setting up the FM stations and alarms were easy enough with the straightforward instructions. As for the white light on the LCD display panel, it cannot be turned off on the device but a button on the remote provided turns off the light at a click.
Overall, I find these speakers great for my purposes, be it in the study, bedroom or outdoors.

Really a good buy and great sound for a small systemJan 30, 2009 OK as you can tell I like this product. Once you hear how lively the surround sound is you will not want to play the regular setting on the auxiliary or FM even. It doesn't have big bass and it doesn't have a bass boost button either. But if your playing mp3s from your laptop you can use your equalizer on I-tunes or Windows media to boost the bass. You don't want to crank this unit up too loudly or it will vibrate. Keep the volume middle-range and you will be pleasantly surprised! Also to the person who complained how the light is too bright why don't you go to Michael's or Hobby Lobby or some other craft supply store and see if you can get a dark colored clear vinyl or plastic sheet to tape on the unit's window and DIM the display? This JVC unit would make a good speaker system even for your computer as long as you are not a sound crank-it-upper.
