Perfect for my needsJul 02, 2009 I had shopped around for a nice little shelf unit (these are hard to find now!) and came down to either the sony or this JVC unit. I decided to go with this one, partly because of price, and becuase it had most of the features i needed.
I use this at my store and it sounds great! I keep the volume pretty low and it has a good sound at low volumes, but i don't hear the sub much. I have turned it up a couple of times and it sounds fantastic! The sub really rounds out the sound.
The ipod connection works well, and charges my Ipod 2nd genreation as it plays.
Good overall system and highly recommended!

How to turn off demo modeMay 09, 2009 Since several reviewers complained about the demo mode, here's how you turn it off: when the system is off, press and hold the demo/cancel button for a couple of seconds (it's on the left side near the top). That's it! Not sure why this was hard to figure out, but that will get rid of the flashing lights. Not sure why they put stuff like this as an option. It's advertising, but for people who've already bought the thing! Anyway, I got this system for free, and it's great. Really loud and good iPod integration. Can't beat the price either ;).

No way to turn of the demo modeApr 02, 2009 I ordered this because of bad experiences with cheaper units. I love the system so far but I think they should have informed me in the product descripiton that you can't turn off the Demo Mode that flashes through all the the features the unit has. I don't want this I want to see the time not flashing lights. If you buy this for a bedroom this may keep you awake until you get used to it. I would not have ordered this if I had known about this. To me this was very poor feature planning. I know they put this feature in to advertise their unit to those who come to visit but come on at least put an off switch on it for those of us who don't want a light show 24-7. If they put an off switch on the demo mode it would get 5 stars. I have never written a review on any product I have purchaced before so you can know I hate the demo mode.
AmaZing for small room !Mar 29, 2009 its a nice home stereo if u have small room .
only thing i don't like about it is FM quality i use to have sony stereo system that thing rocks with FM , perfect sound quality but JVC failed to give best out of FM . you also cant save radio station in this thing which sucks !

Good value-Kids love itJan 12, 2009 This is a big item. The four parts are large but can be separated. Unfortunately, the speaker wire for the subwoofer is too short to really go very far so on both of the systems I purchased I had to add wire to put them on the floor where I wanted.
The rest of the setup is easy. The remote is functional but not intuitive. The speakers boom, boom, boom. The FM reception is good and the many features have not been utilized yet but I'm sure they will be.
These were for the kids' rooms and they have been big hits. We compared to the big Sony units and liked the JVC better. We haven't been disappointed.
