Click to enlarge. | Designed to deliver low frequencies in virtually any car audio system, BassLink truly has universal appeal. Small in size but big in output, BassLink requires a mere .75 cubic feet of trunk space yet produces enough bass to wake up the neighborhood. BassLink consists of a 10-inch subwoofer, 10-inch passive radiator and a 200-watt Class D amplifier housed in a rigid polymer enclosure, all carefully engineered to work together as a unique, integrated system. The extremely versatile BassLink accepts both speaker- and line-level inputs, and it provides an internal low-pass filter, proprietary signal processing and abundant amplification. The BassLink system features a servo-control circuit that continually monitors the voice coil's position in the magnetic gap and prevents the distortion that occurs when a conventional woofer is overdriven. By integrating cone-excursion information with the instantaneous demands of the music, BassLink can extract loud and deep bass from an enclosure smaller than any before. BassLink includes a fixed, 2nd-order, high-pass filter that eliminates the possibility of over-excursion below Fb, the resonant (tuned) frequency of the vented box. This allows the excursion-monitoring circuit to focus on the excursion at the more meaningful frequencies at and above Fb. The result is a significant increase in bass output. User-adjustable controls allow listeners to set the system's response to achieve optimum performance based on the vehicle's cabin gain or transfer function. These controls include: a 0- or 180-degree phase switch; a continuously variable electronic low-pass filter that is adjustable between 70 and 100Hz; variable input sensitivity; and Bass EQ that provides for adjustments between +3 and -6dB. BassLink's frequency response in a typical vehicle is 20 to 100Hz (+/-3dB), but this varies according to the vehicle and user adjustments. At maximum gain, the system can accept inputs as low as 250mV. BassLink can accept up to four channels of input--to provide nonfading bass--either from line-level signals through four RCA jacks or from high-level signals through a pair of Molex connectors, allowing BassLink to be easily connected to OEM systems. If using the speaker-level inputs, an audio-sense circuit will turn on the amplifier whenever a signal is present. If the RCAs are used, a 12-volt, remote-turn-on lead is required. The system has barrier strip connections for power, ground and remote turn-on. Best investment I have made in a long time!Nov 01, 2009 I am happy to let everyone know you can buy something so great and not break the bank! This is the smartest product that Infinity could ever make. I have a 2003 Pontiac Vibe with Factory cd player with traffic and the display tells you what station you are on and so on. I have installed Infinity 6 1/2" front door speakers 45watts @2ohms and rear door 5 1/4" speakers 45watt @2ohms. Sounds great. But, something was missing. Cool!!!!! A 200 watt Infinity Basslink!! This basslink was soooo easy to hook up to my factory cd player. The Basslink has a cool feature if you don't have a Remote turn wire on the back on your radio. It senses music from the speaker wires spliced into your factory cd player included with the Basslink and turns the unit on. How cool is that! It also has a bass knob you can put anywhere on the dash to control you bass without pulling over and popping open the trunk. When I was done installing the Basslink I thought I forgot something. Oh yeah!! Turn it on and enjoy!! All my cds in my car sound so much better and I enjoy driving everywhere even stuck in traffic!! Infinity rules!!!!
Great Sub, But...Sep 10, 2009 Excellent sub, great low frequency response without rattling the car. I had this installed in an acura integra for about 5 years, and it finally died. Maybe the cold or hot weather extremes shortened the life of the amp. The power amp or electronics burned out suddenly, the servo light blinks occasionally "resetting" and no sound. I will definately buy another one, it got alot of use, and sounded great.

Great ValueAug 13, 2009 I recently purchased this basslink and had it professionally installed. I used to have two 10" JL w7's with a 500 rms amp and fully sealed box. Now I must say that compared to those this does not even come close. However, this speaker is very clean bass and very loud. I have a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer and this is in my trunk along with my stock stereo. It sounds amazing. Very Very loud straight out of the box. Clear low tones and very responsive. If you are like me and research the hell out of every option buy this speaker. I spent two weeks reading reviews for this item, the MTX , the BOSS, and even considered doing a single 10" in a smaller box with a 150 watt amp. For the price and quality you cannot go wrong with the Basslink. Stop thinking and buy this, you will be happy and can thank me for it.
Amazing SoundJul 15, 2009 I got this thing when I came back from a deployment years ago and put it in my VW Golf. It was perfect because it gave me just enough low end and I could turn my bass down for my speakers, hence blowing my speakers. I'll shortly be putting it into my new Jetta to save those speakers as well and make the sound more full. An amazing sub if you don't wanna blair your bass where the world can hear.
Good Little SubJul 10, 2009 Car: 2008 Mazda3 Hatchback
Radio: Pioneer AVIC-F90BT (4V preouts)
This is a good little sub. I've had it installed for over a month now and I like it alot. The included remote control is great for dialing the bass up or down as your source changes (or when you wife or gf rides with you). Its very nice that it only takes up a little bit of space - to the fact that I can still get to my spare tire without removing the sub. It will surely fill up a open air car or small Suv with tight bass. Its actually so smooth that it will blend in and make your bass sound omnidirectional.
For the cons: Mine has some internal rattles that I haven't figure out yet. I don't know if its the resonance of the plastic enclosure or the movement of the 10" radiator cone on the back side, but something rattles. Its not a loud rattle and only become apparent at the upper end of the volume range. It will blend in with the other parts of your car rattling so its no big deal for me.
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for more bass and a bigger sound in their vehicle. As others have noted this is not going to rattle the car next next to you but it will provide a big sound in a space saving design. Its also cheaper than buying a 10" sub, box, and a reputable 150 - 250RMS watt amp.
