3Buy some seam sealerMay 14, 2009
PROS: Price, lightweight, compact, easy to assemble, good ventilation

CONS: Not water resistant, much smaller than advertised

I bought this tent for a recent backpacking trip in the Cohutta Wilderness near the base of the AT. On a 3-day trip, it rained 2.86 inches. Granted, it was a lot of rain, but water came right in through the corners and the base of the doors. My gear was soaked after the first night.

Also, I'm 6'5" tall. The base of this tent is not 7'5" long as depicted. Just like every other tent on the market, I have to sleep diagonal or have my head and feet jut out the ends of the tent.

I just finished sealing all the seams, so I'm willing to give this thing another try. Overall though, I'm a little disappointed.

5Great for Boy ScoutsApr 20, 2009
Great for Boy Scouts . This is light enough to carry in their backpack and easy to set up.

4great tentJun 26, 2008
this is a really good basic tent, frill free, extremely easy to put up. i weathered two massive storms and got very little water and the little water i did get that was due to the fact that i just did not pull the ropes tight enough. other campers with me had tents from target and k-mart and they both got water. it is worth shelling out a little more to get a decent tent like this. have tent...will travel

3great for the priceJun 06, 2008
i've taken this tent out a few times, and overall, i'm very happy with it. lightweight, super easy to set up, good wind protection, roomy for two people. 2 gripes:
the rain fly is flimsy, and don't hold up to rain too well.
the tent stakes are weak. otherwise, quality tent.

3If you expect rain while using this tent...Jul 20, 2007
This tent is good except that it is not a full coverage rainfly. I worked on a trail crew and lived in the state parks in a tent for 2 1/2 months with this particular tent. It rained everyday for a week and the tent definitely leaked through the seams that were not covered with a rainfly. Other than that, the rainfly did do its job for the part of the tent that it did cover. This tent is good if you are not expecting rain.
