a must have itemNov 17, 2009 this was a big help in finding the 4th black pearl ball in the realm of heaven.
Really does work!Nov 16, 2009 I was for sure skeptical of this product doing what its box says it does (i.e. the acoustical dampening chart on box). But, after having installed it on all 4 of my doors and on the driver's side floor, I have to give it 2 thumbs up. It didn't convert my Mitsubishi into a Mercedes, but it did REALLY reduce the amount of outside noise coming in. I was yesterday sitting in my car in the soccer parking lot listening to music and could hear absolutely nothing from the outside. People walked right by talking, wind blowing, other cars, etc. and I heard nothing. I only noticed this because it was noticeable. Installation was absolutely no problem either. This stuff is very similar to tar paper, but its design keeps it completely unmessy. Good product.
Worked great on the Washer and DryerNov 13, 2009 Even thought most will use this for automotive purposes I bought it to quiet down my washer and dryer in my apt.
It definitely made it alot quieter but not as quiet as I would have liked. A few more sheets would have done the job but this stuff is pretty expensive.
If you do use this on your car take into the account that it's pretty heavy also.
It's not just for noisy vehicles!Nov 05, 2009 I have read the posts on this product and they seem to focus on how well it blocks out exterior noise, especially in noisy vehicles like trucks. However, on the recommendation of an installer at a local BestBuy store, I had this installed in my brand new already quiet Hyundai Sonata. I was told that it is the single best thing that I could do to improve sound quality of my high quality aftermarket system (Boston Acoustic component speakers, Alpine head unit, power amp, etc.). The system had sounded OK already but something was missing--the sound was just not smooth and full-sounding. After having Dynamat Xtreme installed on the front doors, the sound quality JUMPED UP! Everything came together, especially with an improved midbass. I swear even the subwoofer sounds much more powerful now. I cannot be happier and am glad I bought this. I presume it provides noise and vibration dampening in whatever surface it is applied to, essentially improving the speaker quality as the entire metal door panel is part and parcel of the speaker "box" and is not a naturally good material for housing a speaker in. Highly recommended!
DynamatSep 29, 2009 Dynamat works very well. I used the door system and I am very happy with the reduction in door vibration. The material was also used on the floor and rear cab of a 1986 Ford F150 truck. I would use it again without question.
