CDF-100 Compact SuxNov 15, 2009 The fryer worked a few times and then would not heat oil to a high enough temperature to cook properly. The only good things about it is it is small and doesn't use much oil, and it looks nice. Don't waste your money on it like we did.
WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER ONE, SECOND ONE TO BREAK!!Nov 13, 2009 We bought this because we like Cuisinart products and the small size was important. Our first one made it about a year and then the temp knob broke off (it is NOT replaceable). I figured that maybe one of the kids bumped it into something and so instead of contacting Cuisinart I just tossed it and replaced it.
After about one year with the second one that temp knob broke off as well. The unit comes with a 3 year warranty and so I contacted the company. The gal I spoke with asked for the model # and the serial #. I went to get those for her and the serial number was not on the label anymore. When I told her and even sent her a picture of the label she just said simply that the serial number should be there and without that they could not help me unless I still had the receipt. That is very convenient for the company that the serial # either wasn't ever there or simply wipes/washes off after a period of time and now they do not have to replace ours. So now I will NOT by another Cuisinart one, and am trying to figure out which one to buy next.
KimberSep 03, 2009 Not a great product for the price good only for 1 person deep frying. Have had much better fryers. Plastic lid broke second time using it.
I would not recommend it to anyone.
Convenient small fryerJul 17, 2009 I got this fryer since there is only 2 of us at home and the thought of wasting less oil was very appealing. I have the much larger Waring deep fryer but only use that for large gatherings. The Cuisinart is handy. I tried it with fresh cut potatoes to make fries. I followed the directions and they came out really nice. My only issue is that you could only put one layer of potatoes in the frying basket which made the cooking time longer for the amount of food being cooked. I assume the one layer directions was to prevent the food from sticking together. Overall, I think this would be best for a single serving or for small groups where the time between cooking can be spaced apart. Clean up wasn't back. After draining, wiping with paper towels, I used the Dawn degreaser spray for cleaning the rest of the way. It was a lot easier than cleaning the bigger fryer.
Handy to haveJul 04, 2009 A good little fryer. Very pleased with it. Good
for quick, light things - just don't ask it to do
any heavy lifting. Only uses one quart (plus a little)
oil, so easy cleaning.
