 Great For Beach... especially with kidsSep 12, 2009
Needed some shelter for the beach to protect our 7 month old baby. Set up takes longer then some other tents and it can be tough to get the last pole into the grommet, but the final product is very sturdy. Held up to constant driving wind one day very well. Take down is easy but is complicated by windy conditions. Good to have a helper sit on the tent to prevent it from blowing away. Included sandbags are very useful and add to the stability of the shelter. Overall, very pleased with the tent.

Great Product to Unwind & RElax at the CoastlineAug 22, 2009
I took this beach shade last week with me at Ocean Cove in NOrthern CA - I set it up by the cliffs, overlooking the pacific ocean. I was experiencing heavenly bliss sitting on my lounge chair, reading my books, and I had a 180 degree view - and witnessed the migration of the whales. About the product: very easy to set-up. The poles did get caught on the net during set-up and tear down. Taking this product to the next level - use a solid material instead of a net - and set-up will be SO FAST! I also had only 6 very light stakes - so I purchased 8 heavy-duty ones, and they worked great. My dog K.C. (first-time camping) loved it too. I recommend this product AND Ocean Cove for your next camping trip (15 miles north of Jenner. $19 a night!) Have a great time with your outdoor activities relaxing, recuperating and getting re-charged!

We purchased this item ca. a month ago especially to protect our 13 months old son from the sun. We have used it twice already. We are very very pleased with the quality as well as the purpose of it. It was well thought. We set it up first at home together to see how long it will take and to make sure that we understand the concept. It took us max. 15 minutes. It took us less at the beach despite the light breeze. I will say that it takes between 7 and 10 minutes max. Can only recommend it. What I like also is that it is not bulky and doesn't take too much space on the beach.

People look at me weird every time I start building this tent on the beach. It looks complicated when is on the floor but once you build it you will be the happiest person on the beach and everyone will want to be there! The nice thing is that you dont even need a towel, you just sit down on the inside floor of the tent. It was a back window you can open and let the air come in! and if someone wants to change you can always close it! Awesome product and it can be built by one person because I do it all the time!

I went to the beach for july 4th and used my shelter. I had used it before, but july 4th reenforced my feelings on the shelter. It is a great shade spot, and if the tempeture outside isnt blazing, it could possibly be the greatest product made to provide shelter. BUT this product CAN NOT be used during mid day times (1-3pm) when the sun is at its hottest. Its basically a cooking pot when used during that time. Ventilation is ok (not good, but OK), which is its downfall. During the mid-day, it honestly felt better outside the shelter then inside because of the breeze (this led me to buy a canopy instead). Can you face the shelter towards the direction of the breeze? Of course, but when you have kids in the water, EVERYONE will face it towards the water. And the breeze doesnt always flow in the direction facing the water. Where I am located, the breeze HARDLY flows in the direction facing the water.
Of course the ventilation is its only flaw, but its a MAJOR ASTRONOMICAL flaw where i am located, which is why I gave it 3 and not 4 stars.
