OK....but...Sep 22, 2009 We bought this grill about a year ago because we liked the separate burner alongside the grill. That feature is great, but the grill side suffers. It has hot and cold spots and is difficult to clean. The wind panels on the side that support the top in a vertical position are somewhat flimsy and the attachment comes loose often. Also, if the left panel (near the burner side) is engaged, there is not much space for a pot on the burner. The igniter burned off after a few uses and I now use a lighter to light the gas rather than putting more money into this thing for a replacement igniter. All in all, after a year's use, we are going to junk this grill and try to find a decent one.

A Good Gompromise GrillSep 04, 2009 The Coleman Grill Stove offers both a grill and a stove burner. The grill is smallish, about one foot square, but big enough to easily do 4 servings of meat or fish. I like the thin dimension of the grill which is achieved by not having a smoker hood capability. Cooking is achieved only by the direct heat and the contact with the grill bars, which give the meat nice "grill marks". I line the reflector under the grill with foil for each use. It simplifies cleanup and increases the radiant heating by reflection. I am pleased with the very quick warm up and what I consider to be good fuel economy, about 8 meals per one pound canister. I also bought the griddle for this unit and am very pleased with the versatility and very uniform heat, no hot spots. The naugahyde carrying case is a little to tight, but works well.

great stove and grillAug 31, 2009 This stove and grill combo is a gem. We bought it as a way to transition from backpacking to car camping. It's truly easier and more fool proof than grilling at home! The temperature nobs are not like a home grill with discreet "click" spots in the dial for low, medium or high; rather, temp control is like on a backpacking stove stove with a simple valve adjustment that you turn higher or lower based upon what the flame size is. The griddle is a great add on, too. People say not good idea to use metal utensils on non-stick grill; not really clear what specific ones would be good to purchase for use with this grill. Used four days for breakfast and dinner, still gas in canister. One recommendation not specifically related to this grill; think about how you want to make your coffee. I believe the coleman coffee maker might work with this stove, and it looks to be the size of an at-home coffee maker. If want to just use a backpacking style one-shot coffee set up; for ease of pouring, consider bringing an actual teapot style pot for boiling. Summary statement: don't leave for car-camping without this combo stove/grill; it brings added enjoyment to the experience.
Gourmet CampingAug 24, 2009 Since I couldn't bring my Viking stove to Zion, this Coleman grill substituted just fine. We grilled lamb chops and made pilaf at the same time. Electronic ignition fired things up on first start. My only criticism is that I wish the griddle was not teflon coated. Although the surface was non-stick, I am concerned about the chemical release when the temperature gets too hot.
Coleman Grill StoveAug 24, 2009 A great versatile product. Enjoy grilled meat without having to carry around a purpose built grill or light a fire. Had seen a similar product from an unknown brand but preferred to search out the Coleman product. It just works as it was intended.
