Good choice for the price.Oct 29, 2009 After doing quite a bit of research, I chose these binoculars primarily for use at athletic events. I've been very pleased with the Perma Focus feature, the clarity of the image, and the durability. The downside is the weight and size. That might make it difficult for continued use, i.e., wildlife. But unless you want to pay another $100 or so, this is a very good choice.
Perma focusOct 28, 2009 I use these in hunting situations where game has to be identified quickly. Its great not to have to fiddle with focusing. You can scan large areas of land very quickly with this great piece. The image seems to be a little less precise than my insta-focus Bushnells, but its good enough to handle 99% of what most people would require.
Bushnell Perma Focus 10x50 Wide Angle BinocularJun 11, 2009 Great and so easy to use. I used these at work and loved them, so I bought a pair for us. We live on a lake and if you want to see wildlife quickly - these are great. They are just perfect for an all around binocular and you just can't go wrong with Bushnell. Everyone that uses our loves them.
perma focusJan 06, 2009 I have a pair of Bushnell 12x50 perma focus binoculars and like so much I had to buy 10x50's for my wife to enjoy and she loves them
Good and simpleDec 24, 2008 This is our second set of two. Over a period of 7 years the previous pair got dropped or jostled and stopped being clearly focused. We take responsibility for the damage as we carry these things everywhere. I got a pair for my sixth grade students to watch the 70 turkey vultures that roost outside of my classroom (something to do with low test scores?).
They use your own eyes to focus as you move. They are great for following moving objects because you don't need to worry about focusing. On our last trip to Alaska they worked well for everything and in extreme cold too. We like them alot.
Problems? A bit heavy. Not perfect focus and don't work well for viewing night objects. Have lots of little areas where sand or dust can get stuck. They are useless for close objects and not good for small, close birds. The plastic neck strap breaks easy and is uncomfortable.
