5Glad I tried itOct 23, 2009
After reading some of the reviews compaining about loose-fitting tops, spillage, and charcoal dust, I was a bit apprehensive about placing my order.

I'm very glad I decided to order one. I've had this several weeks now and it is the perfect water container/filter for my use. I use it in my office instead of hauling cases of plastic bottles.

I've not experienced any of the problems noted.

4Everything was greatOct 11, 2009
Got the filter exactly when i expected to get it. It was in great shape - for a great price. Service was good. I'd recommend (if asked) everyone to get a filter through this method.

5Perfect for the dorm/office; save your money & the environment!Sep 28, 2009
I've had the pitcher for about a month now, and no complaints so far. In fact, I consider the purchase well worth it.

I used to drink bottled water, because I don't find the taste of tap water particularly appealing. Buying a Brita pitcher, however, has several advantages:

1. Saves money. I drink about 2 gallons of water per week at home (roughly speaking, and not counting my liquid intake in other forms & outside the house). If you rely on bottled water all the time, the money begins to add up quickly. The pitcher begins to pay for itself after about a month. The manual recommends that the filter be replaced every 2 months or 40 gallons - which is because, I am assuming, the average family goes through 40 gallons in about 2 months. If you're a single student like me, a filter will see you through for 4-5 months.

2. Saves time. It's a real hassle when you run out of bottled water, the nearest grocery store is 3 blocks away and it's 3 a.m. Yes, you do have to wait a good minute or two for the water to filter down but I'm sure most people have the patience to deal with that. Or you can just have it filled up to be used whenever.

3. Helps save the environment. You ever wonder where all those plastic bottles come from and where they go after you throw 'em away? Also, bottling water for commercial purposes as the beverage companies do can have detrimental ecological impacts on the source.

As for the black carbon bits that some people claim to find in their water, I haven't had any problems with this. There are some carbon chips floating loose in mine, but only in the top compartment. There is one minor design slip, that the whole top compartment can slide off the pitcher when I'm trying to open the lid sometimes, but at under $15 I'm willing to overlook such a flaw. Also, the water tastes good.

Highly recommended, especially for college students who need to keep themselves hydrated.

4Good little pitcherSep 22, 2009
I got this pitcher the other day, and so far I like it. It holds enough water to fill my coffee maker, and it's not too big. It fits just fine in my fridge. It also fills up really fast thanks to being so small, which is awesome.

My only gripe is that the top is hard to pull off when you need to fill it up. It causes the whole inside unit to come out. I find that if you dig your fingernails into it rather than trying to lift it with your fingertips helps. It's only a small gripe.

I recommend this to anyone who lives alone or with just one other person or has a small fridge.

Bonus: Tasty water.

This product works as advertised. The only problem I have is, pouring, you have to be careful that the plastic filter holder does not disengage from the pitcher.
