We have been using this type of cleaner for more than 10 years and the type of cleaner in general is very useful invention. When we bought this, we were expecting some design improvement over our 10 year old one. But like many products nowadays, design for the look changed a lot, not for the functionality.
This type of cleaner tends to deal with all kind of dirty situation and if you see narrow plastic gaps under the liquid container, difficult to clean, you probably do not even want to try to clean after a few years. The clear container looks clean now. But only way of cleaning inside is to put liquid and just shake, and the container has lot of plastic structure and pipe inside, I could easily see it having all kind of unpleasant colors appearing soon or later.
And with such bulky size, and only a small container, you would probably be busy discharging and refilling the tanks looking for new solution in the middle of accident on your carpet. Having raised two children and living with two dogs now, I feel that I would rather look for potentially better designed one than buying this at this point.

This is my second little green machine and seems to be improved upon. The spray action is a little too wide for my liking but does the job well. I have used this on a variety of different carpets and even on a bedspread to clean up a spill and it exceeded my expectations each time.
A great buy for small clean up jobs! Oh and do use the Bissell brand formula, it does seem to work very well.

Usually, when a product is hovering around 4 stars, I skim the bad reviews and assume those were from defective products or grumpy users, but its true; this thing has terrible suction.
I bought this to spot clean my cream microfiber sofa which had a lot of very simple dirt stains. The spray is very wide, but that was actually good for going over cushions quickly. The water it did pick up was nasty and dirty, so the brush/solution combo is doing something, but the problem is that it picked up less than 1/5 of the water/solution that went down.
I went through the manual and there is a section on troubleshooting poor suction. I tried everything recommended with no dice - I removed and tightened everything I could find on the dirty tank, but that did not help either.
I tried several different angles and levels of pressure with the wand to no avail, and I finally had to go get my big wet vac.
I will be looking for another machine.

I bought this before I read the reviews, and I agree, the spray area is much wider than the actual brush, which is kind of odd.
I so far just tried to clean a small area on a cheap wool area rug that I have. I thought it worked great. I did not have any problem with the water not being sucked up. Maybe it is not so good for installed carpet that has padding on it. But I found it worked great on my area rug. My spot is dry even if I step on it, and only after several hours.
I'm overall excited about this product. It's great to find something with earth-friendly cleaning solutions. I sit on the floor a lot, and of course, my baby does as well. I'm pretty concerned about what I wash it with.

I have four pets two of which sometimes bring home pets of their own. One of the mice died in the house before I could find it. What a stench. I used my Little Green Machine with the pet odor shampoo and no more mousie smell. I have a large steamer which I use when I clean the entire carpet but this little machine does the job for the smaller stuff. I'm satisfied. And it's sort of cute. It looks as little space alien might appear.
