 Perfect for the living room/ family roomNov 05, 2009
This little boom box looks great and has great sound, I have it in my living room and when we have parties its is awesome, the volume can go high and still sound great. Some may think that the antenna may be an issue but i have no problem with it, I think you will be fine as long as it is facing south and is at least 5-10 feet from a window, some say it has to be by a window or even outside, but my radio antenna is on the wall right behind my xm sound system and I still get great signal and the window it faces is about 10 feet away.... A must buy for XM radio fans, and I recommend the lifetime subscription so you can have commercial FREE radio in your house for ever

this is terrific,sorry didn't get it sooner. easy to set up,antenna wire long enough
[20 ft] which works well.only small thing, wish the bass was adjustable.

Wow! When I first heard the system I could not believe it was coming from this small little box. It's a great value for money. Don't know what Bose Wave Radio sound like but hard to imagine it is better than this little jewel. Surprisingly good bass. Now, I get full use from my XM Radio -- moving it regularly between car and home office. Thanks audiovox!

This unit sounds great and I am blown away by the sound quality and volume for it's size. This unit looks great on my night stand and I bought a second one for my living room. I love the blue L.E.D. light on the front of the unit and it moves vertically as you raise the volume it looks so Art Decco. It also has a AUX out line for using a mp3 player or a terrestrial radio tuner(WHY,lol). It also comes with a remote control which is a nice touch. I recommend this unit if you want a small handsome looking unit that packs quality sound.

I had high expectations and so far I'm satisfied but slightly underwhelmed given the glowing reviews by others. (This is no fault of the product -- it does perform as advertised by Audiovox.) I'm listening through a Pioneer XMp3. The sound quality is good -- as in noticeably better than a cheap set of computer speakers -- but not amazing. Contrary to what others are claiming I doubt anyone at Bose is losing sleep over this system, although I admit I've never heard a Wave sound system and maybe my expectations are too high there as well. Sound clarity is good, the highs are good but the bass is weaker than I had hoped and overall the tone isn't that great. You can't adjust the tone either.
I've flipped through a lot of different kinds of music with it: classical and blue grass sound good, but rock and hip hop are just ok.
I think if you have a crummy radio or a cheap iPod dock this will be a significant upgrade and you'll be impressed. On the other hand, if you've read all the other reviews and are expecting it to sound like a mini version of your high-end stereo system, you'll likely be disappointed.
It's a good box and a decent value for the money. As usual, you get what you pay for, and in this case that means something better than your alarm clock but not as nice as your stereo.
