I have an HP laptop customized HDX16 premium series with vista 64bits and the firewire port that came included doest'n work with my presonus firestudio proyect, make a lot of distortion noise, i was very upset about it for my investment in the customize laptop that doest'n work fine, my main goal was and is to have a movil recording studio or use it for live performances too, but this firewire ADS 1394 expres card " save the entire show" ( for me) works with no complain just plug and inmediatly recognize it, im very happy cause the customized laptop runs beautyful with it!!!!

I bought this card to connect my Presonus FireStudio Mobile to my Windows 7 laptop. The installation was dead simple, Windows 7 recognized the card immediately. Once the FS Mobile was hooked up the problems with the integrated 1394 port (clicks/pops/drop outs, etc) went away immediately.
Well worth the price.

Product itself is ok but the fact that i put it into a dell is the main reason I encountered problems because it wouldn't work. I mean I got this card for the 1394 jack, but the reason i got this card was because the 1394 port on my dell laptop didnt work or was sharing an irq, wtvr, u sell a pc dell then make it work right!!! Even with the addition of this card I still encountered problems but the problems encountered were from the pc not the card... oh bother.

Exactly the high performance I neededJul 31, 2009
My HP HDX 16 laptop came with a standard OHCI Compliant Firewire card. For high quality Firewire music recording, I needed a more powerful firewire card, and the Pyro works perfectly. Having two ports is a great bonus, and, since it's 34 pin, it fits in any express slot.
